December 2025 Update

December has been a great month.

Although the last couple of weeks of December felt like a slow down, we've made some great decisions that will help us some months down the road.

First, and foremost, @Pau has joined the team.

Pau is a software developer from Blanes who studied Computer Science in Barcelona. When he reached out (thanks to our November update that mentioned we were looking for a dev to join the team), we spoke and it was an immediate fit. We didn't need technical challenges and other shit, I immediately knew he was perfect for the team.

So, since he joined on the 16th, we have done a HUGE amount of changes and new features on the app which I had been postponing for a long time. Also, he's now taking over customer support, which has been a huge relief because of the number of tickets we were getting lately (mainly requiring fixes).

Some of the things we've done:

  • Migrated our media storage from Vercel to Cloudflare (saving $$)
  • Shipped logs for users
  • Added Telegram and Google Business as platforms
  • Added Analytics for LinkedIn
  • Created a new SDK and MCPs thanks to @Carlos
  • Fixed lots of the major reasons why our posts were failing frequently (tracked through getlate.dev/open)
  • Completely redid our API documentation (docs.getlate.dev)
  • Added webhooks to the app
  • Added a new automated developer news Telegram channel: t.me/lateapi

We've also decided to hire an external Google Ads consultant (@Christoph) who has just started working on our account. The main reason was that I saw we were spending a lot of money on a single campaign, which was obviously not optimal. Also, lots of the conversions we were getting from Google Ads (and currently no one is running ads on our brand name) were actually branded, so we had been actually lying to ourselves on how these were converting. Let's see how this plays out. I like Google Ads a lot vs other platforms because of the intentionality of search which people use to actively search for a solution.

Now, also very important, we're looking for the third member of our team: a growth generalist. Check out this post where we describe the perfect fit.

If you know someone that fits this, we'd love to meet them!

I've been also thinking about if putting goals for us in revenue or other areas made sense. I think it doesn't, because of how early it still is in the process, it's just a lucky guess which doesn't make sense other than making us feel useless if we fall far from the goal. But, if I'm allowed to wish, my wish is that we've crossed $200k MRR this time next year (10x).

Down to the money

MRR

  • Tailride - $7.5k (vs. $6.6k in Nov)
  • Late - $21.0k (vs. $11.8k in Nov)

Revenue

  • Tailride - $13.4k (vs. $12.6k in Nov)
  • Late - $32.0k (vs. $38.3k in Nov)

We still have a big pending assignment: churn.

Our churn is still high at around 15%. I think this will get down during this month due to all the product improvements, but if not, it will be difficult to keep scaling at this rate.

For January, my goal is to spend less time thinking about our product and more about our go to market.

Unrelated

This month I read 1 book (not proud):

  • Six Easy Pieces - Richard Feynman

Also December has been a great month because it means time spent with family and friends.

Here's a pic of our dog celebrating the new year!
